MELATONIN
If you have trouble getting to sleep, sleeping through the night, or need help counteracting jet lag, you may consider taking some melatonin, a hormone normally produced in the pineal gland. It triggers the body's sleep mechanisms, acts as a powerful free radical scavenger and helps you maintain a healthy mental outlook. Exposure to light (television, reading lamp, street lights, etc.) can inhibit the production of melatonin in your body when darkness is supposed to stimulate the natural sleep response, making it more difficult to get restful sleep.
